Similar to you, zand, my kids' dentist told me off about enamel erosion when they were little. Lemonade only happened on Christmas Eve, I didn't buy sweets for them and they only had cordial occasionally. As a single mum I spent a fair whack of my wages visiting the barrow boy outside my workplace a few times a week, thinking fruit a good, cheap, healthy option. How wrong can a person be?
Knowing what I do now, I'd be tempted to put a warning sticker on clementines, too.
Edit to say, if we're advising folk to choose a healthier option, we need to better define 'healthy'.
