Greetings folks,

I just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 45 going on 46 and just been informed I am prediabetic, which I know nothing about, hence why I joined. I'm also agoraphobic and haven't left my house in 30 years, which isn't exactly fun, but my psychological profile has adapted to it so it isn't anything I get depressed about now. I thought I'd join these forums so people can provide tips and educate me and the rules.

Hello and welcome,

Well you have found a great resource for diabetics and the good news is that since you are only prediabetic you should be able to bring down your HbA1c without completely cutting carbs. Now that I have learned what I know now I wish I have learned it years earlier as I quite frankly a carboholic. I still hope that one day I may be able to increase my carbs but not planning to even try until I've lost some more weight and kept my HbA1c down for at least a year or two I figure I probably have high insulin resistance and the longer I go very low carb the more good it will do.

Read around the site- it is truely awesome. Ask questions and keep posting

Welcome.

Actually, you might find people coming to YOU for advice for how to stay at home! Welcome
