Is it just me that finds this annoying

Does anybody else find it extremely annoying when u get near to the end of a cartridge of insulin, and have to double inject as you don't have quite enough left!
This morning I needed 15 units of long acting and only had 13 left! So had to do an extra needle for the remaining two units!
Lol I feel like it burdens me to have to change the cartridge and do it all again half way through a dose! That's just lazy I know!

Tanny when i get to the end of a cartridge and don't have enough insulin left form my dose i change cartridge. Firstly i put a needle on the old cartridge and dispense the insulin down the sink.
 
There should be a line drawn around your cartridge, somewhere around the 50 units mark. When my stopper goes past that line I change my cartridge. Saves me the hassle of double-injecting!

It's a little bit wasteful but by that time my insulin has been hanging around at room temp for almost 3 weeks so probably due a change anyway.
 
That's a good idea. I always felt bad for wasting - but I guess ifs it's just a couple of units that beats anothe needle! We do enough as it is don't we!

With my pen. I can't dial past the units left in the cartridge. (Through many years of experience. I can gauge what's left.)
Just change the cartridge to start with & inject once...

I love starting a new cartridge!
 
Yeah that's the same with mine - it will only let u dial up to how ever many units are left.
I can always tell if there won't be enough. It's just my pet hate lol not having enough in one cartridge - don't know why I find it so annoying, but it's one of those little things that really bug me. I always think I'll just change it and just do one. But then like I say don't want to waste too much.

Know what u mean about starting a new cartridge - it's a funny happy feeling. Like u have ages left in it before u need t change!

It's the "ritual" of injecting I enjoy. Lol.
& to be fair you would have needed 17 to 19 units left to perform a 2 unit air shot & prime the needle.. (Sometimes I need to do a couple of air shots to expel air. Especially after a flight?)

To remove the CO2 you do need to ram insulin through
My man Himtoo has the rhyme, but the clue is in the fine jet that sets
the needle for a dose of life saver, like a lazer pointer or a Gillete razor
But don't be duped, a misfire could land in a diner's soup
Or the hair of your neighbour's daughter if you bolus in full veiw at a barbecue?
it's up to you. What goes up comes down no foolin' Fire up straight & true!
If it lands in your mouth? Just make like drooling......

but a funky young lady who maybe
shoots true with less aim and no fame
over the fence in her neighbours barbecue
cue the scene its a dream for its been raining the whole weekend through

Though this thread has departed from a subject on a change of cartridge
It will soon get annoying as we toying with wordplay like a rapid fire machine gun
Notifications pile up like horse dung, goin insane in the fast lane
as we chill like a five pack of novorapid kept on the salad rack
With a knack of knocking a topic off track but never out of sync
Jus sayin Friday night, kick back & wax lyrical about the units left
& Fire a shot in the air like you just don't care put the needle on the pen on the pen on the pen. Yeah yeah
 
my salad rack has a crack and the rapid's gone vapid
but the chemist did his best
replaced the lot now its back in the slot
awaiting the call to refill it fits the bill but its not
too cool its at 5 , no jive and awaiting its turn to keep me alive
now @mahola 's joined in brought a grin her talent don't hide in the dark
cuz her 1 word song title hits the mark she's knocked it out of the park

Now we talk cold cartriges causing pain in the arses
I have a fancy reusable repeat script doable
Less trees killed & good for invironmental issues
Saves tears & used tissues, The pen gets a new life
Like a James Brown sample or a Queen bass line
Time after time on another rap single hook line..
 
arses and injecting could start it's own thread
but to use your line in a rap just wouldn't be cr*p
instead in my head a bum pillow for my bed
we digress from annoying instead toying
with funk from the master , brown was class
but a metal master lurks in the wings

all injections are necessary and a matter of course

we be the rockin' pair from our puter chairs
pumpin' up the sound all around
but we care to make it sound
like the air shots that we both found
while tannie does the vox
and she rocks taps her crocs
and waves her locks but wears no sox
she says she don't care
but she better beware
when she ends up facing her Doc ( tor) LOL
