In theory and in time it is possible. Looks good on paper but stuffing yourself with chocs and then getting a non Diabetic response wrt blood glucose does not tell the whole story. It is about insulin and insulin resistance and this is just so unpredictable.
In theory you can keep type 2 diabetes at bay without medication, but there is no way to fix or restore insulin resistance. There is a difference between getting cured, or being able to quit medication because of lifelong lifestyle changes.
Would what be possible?Ok that’s interesting thank you.
In my situation because I haven’t actually got diabetes yet score of 40 would it be possible in my case if I lost weight?
Thanks
Maybe. It's worth a try. However, keep in mind that many people on a LCHF diet experience physiological insulin resistance, which means they get a blood glucose response that looks like they have diabetes, but it's just temporary until they have carbs for a few days. This is why someone taking an OGTT who is on a LCHF diet needs to eat carbs for a few days before the test. I'm fortunate in that a LCHF diet doesn't give me physiological insulin resistance.Sorry I wasn’t being very clear what I meant to say was is this the same for someone with Prediabetes? As in could insulin resistance return to normal?
I agree I can’t imagine going back to a high sugar/ carb diet either!
Thanks
