Isa pint of milk a day all that bad on a LCHF diet?

I've die just started a LCHF diet with the goal of loosing weight. At present I'm finding it easy enough, possibly because I live alone and do all my own cooking

Anyway there are certain elements that confuse me. At the moment it's Milk. Cream, Cheese, Butter, all seem to be great when it comes to the LCHF diet, but not so Milk and I'm wondering why? At the end of the day it all came from the one source

My reason for asking is simple. I have my milk delivered, 6 pints a week and it would be inconvenient for me to go to the shop if I needed milk. At the moment it's building up and I'm giving it to my nephew or sister. If I really need to I will cancel.

So is a pint of milk a day all that bad on a LCHF diet?
 
Some of us (me!) seem to get disproportionately high spikes in our blood glucose after milk. Others don't.

So if you have a meter, I would drink 200mls of milk and see what it does to your bg.

If you don't have a meter, then you could try re-introducing milk and see what happens to your weight loss (if you are low carbing for weight loss).

The actual amount of carbs in milk is fairly low, but it is very easy to use lots of it in drinks and cooking, and that is probably where the problem lies... if there is a problem at all.
 
I found swiching to Lacto free milk made a huge difference. Admittedly it's a bit more expensive, but I only get through about a pint a week.
 
There are alternatives to normal cow's milk (containing the sugar lactose). In my strict low carb days I was consuming almond milk, coconut milk and / or soya milk with cereal (soya flakes) and mixing it with protein powder. Admittedly these options not as pleasantly tasting as cow's milk but a reasonable substitute.
 
As milk contains close to 5% sugar you may want to restrict the amount you consume.
Cream also contains sugar but is comparably lower and you'd rarely have a pint per day anyway. Butter is almost pure fat so no carbs while cheese contains the fat and protein from milk but not the sugar.
