Malc, yes.
I have a card, which I git from the diabetic specialist nurse. I also have a braceket, that has the words diabetic on it, along with the medic aleart symbol...google medic alert...or even try daibetes jewellry in ebay...there are loads of options.
To be honest, I think that you only need to "publicise" the bear minimum. If you are on insulin,,,then the words diabetic are probaly essential...a contact number is usefull too. I have needed this twice now, in 34 years. On obe occasion, they simply looked in my handbag..igoring the bracelet, and saw my blood glucose monitor...so tested my blood and treated me gor a hypo (they being ambulance staff) the other time, the fact that I had had a hypo, whilst clutching glucose tablets gave the game away! If you are unconscious, you have to hope that someone will call an ambulance...BG is somethin they will test, i there is no obvious reason that you are unconscious...but giving them a clue helps a lot! The other reason, is if you have an accident...car accident etc, ie nothing to do with diabetes, and can't communicate, some kind of jewellry, card, key ring etc, will helpo them treat you in the correct manner.
