I've been binge eating and drinking a lot a recently (my mental health is bad), but recent A1c results indicate that I have everything under control (5.5%). I've fallen out of habit of monitoring my blood glucose, and I'm concerned about having extremely itchy feet shortly after eating/drinking. I'm on the whiskey liqueur this evening and it's happening again - my blood glucose is currently 11.2 mmol/L and it hasn't been two hours since I ate. Any thoughts?

Your meter reading can tell you how much of a spike your food/drink is giving you.
Test before food/drink and 2hrs later. The difference in number is your spike. Some protein foods can give some type2s no spike. Sugar would give a spike. Insulin users rely on that spike to keep out of hypo coma.

No, my meter gives me a number, which is meaningless unless I know what the values signify...
