IVF what to expect

Hi guys

I'm confused. I was diagnosed with Type 2 following bloods taken for pre ivf checks showed high sugar level.

I have read that u should wait up to 6 months after diagnosis before conceiving. Does anyone know if this is correct? I don't want to do anything that will affect my chance of success but don't want to lose place

I have IVF clinic in February & not sure what to expect or what to say? TIA
