Most of the tings I should eat
Hi All, I've just been diagnosed with type 2, and finding the whole subject of living with diabetes a bit of a mine field. I think being on a forum like this may help especially with diet.

Cheers,

Chris.

Hi Chris and welcome to the forum There is a lot to learn when you have just been diagnosed with diabetes but maybe this information will help you. It was written for new members and gives some useful advice on diet and a lot of other things too. If you have any questions, please ask as there is usually someone here who will know the answer.

Welcome to the forum BigBandit.

I am sure that you will find this forum very helpful. Everyone has loads of good advice. I was only diagnosed a few weeks ago so I know what you mean when you say it's a minefield. I am still learning how to cope but I couldn't have done it without the help of everyone on the forum.

There are alot of people with loads of experience so I am sure that whatever questions you have there will be someone with an answer.

There is a mixture of opinions re diet and low carbing. I would advise you to read everything and judge what suits you best. What I have learned is that everyone reacts differently to different foods. Best advice is check BG before and 2 hours after eating and then you will be able to see what works for you. Personally, I am trying low carb and it has brought my readings right down.

Best of luck.
