Hi all, I have just been diagnosed with diabetes and Dr says I have to see the diabetic nurse before I can be treated, is the the normal procedure as I am feeling quite rough at the moment and cannot get to see her for 2 weeks (then away for a week so will not be treated for nearly a month)

Hi Graham and welcome to the forum To help you look after yourself before seeing the nurse, here is some information which we give to new members which will help you. Ask as many questions as you need to as we are here to help you.

I had to wait too (I guess you're T2) ... But luckily I took advantage of a cancellation. Not that she was much help.

Have a good read around this site, it really helps. Cut some carbs and sugar, try to get some extra exercise and generally fight it yourself. That's what I'm doing and I feel lots better.

Thanks for that, yes I believe I am T2 and am cutting down on sugar and carbs etc, but do have a high stressful job which does not help :-(

Just feel that some treatment would help, been told that tablets would be needed.

Glad you are feeling better.
