Been pumping for few months now, yesterday I have weighed everything I've eaten read all the labels went to bed with a reading of 7.8 just woke up done a blood test now 24.6 ?
I done a infusion set change yesterday but all seems to be well ?
Yes never forgot to bolus yet hopefully I wont.Did you actually remember to bolus? It has been known for some people to forget
Hi
Sorry to see u post this but most pumpers will get this every now and again. I got driven to despair mysel whilst learning the ropes when I started pumping.
What has caused the hiģh bg?............check first that insulin is priming through the tube and of course, check that the tube clip was on the set ok. If insulin is priming ok, the problem might be the set so put anothdr one in to play safe. Also, its not that uncommon for bg levels to change overnight so to check that its not that, get up in the night and start testing bg every 3hrs and then you'll see what happens and whether you need to correct. If you do need to correct, then you'll need to either alter the bssal rates or possibly use a tbr. I always make the rule to correct very high bg levels with my pen first and then investigate what has gone wrong with the pump.

Also any type of illness, even a cold, can send my numbers soaring. Sometimes I think I feel fine but a day or two later something like a sore throat develops. I do also have days when my sugars are high for no apparent reason (last night 15.8 out of the blue and still high this morning). Although this is frustrating, I've found I just have to just correct for a day or two and then the sugars re-adjust themselves......not always back to what they were before though! I think it's important to say this as I, like some others, do have problems with high BSs and it's not down to the pump or anything else we can find, it's just our bodies behaving strangely. My doc says it may be down to hormones but I really don't know. Hope things settle for you.
As a matter of interest what did you eat? It could be that you just used the wrong type of bolus for the meal.
As Riri suggests perhaps well worth checking your basals as they do change.Yesterday evening I had a sausage sandwich got the carb info from the bread wrapper and the sausage packaging, no sauce just a little flora, and bolused what the meter advised.
Although earlier the BG started to drop I took pump off for a shower just put it back on tested upto 17 what is going on I only had 2 scrambled eggs today (no milk no cream just a small splash of ev olive oil ? I even over compensated for them as not at work today.
RoDnEyBoY.
It may be that your basal insulin requirement do now need changing. Maybe speak to your DSN tomorrow if sugars are still rising. t1 diabetics on pumps should also test for the presence of ketones if sugars are over 13. Have you checked them? All the best

Personally I find sausages a sod to bolus for even the zero carb gluten free ones as always end up high in the night unless I set a temp basal to cover them. If you ate scrambled eggs on their own then also this might have caused quite a rise as many type 1's needs to bolus for protein eaten on it's own. One lady I know always counts each egg as 4 carbs when blousing her son's meal.
Good news. Anything to 0.6 ketones is classed as normal so no worries there. Gardening seems to be the answer!!!
As a newish pumper I would say the most likely cause is that the infusion set change didn't work properly and your new infusion set is duff. Visually inspect the canula site to see if it's secure. Check the tubing. Do a correction dose and check your meter. If your blood sugar is not dropping appropriately after 2 hours, put on a new infusion set.Been pumping for few months now, yesterday I have weighed everything I've eaten read all the labels went to bed with a reading of 7.8 just woke up done a blood test now 24.6 ?
