The term "big boned" lol repeatedly told this growing up!
I don't think we need to scream until we're hit. There's a lot goes on before someone's bright idea becomes fact. There's a lot reported in newspapers that's just bubble - it's all written by journalists, who have a job to do which often is light on accuracy. In any case, it's my understanding that cosmetic procedures don't come under NHS anyway, unless health is also affected.

There seem to be so many ads attaching to the article on my screen that I haven't read the article, however, my view is there are lots of horror stories floating around at the moment, in terms of cuts and clawbacks it can be hard to sift the wheat from the chaff.

Some of this will be to "help us understand how lucky we are" with what is eventually announced on the 17th and subsequent days. T'was ever thus.

(For example, stories of cutting higher rate tax relief on pension contributions has been floating around since the late 80s.)

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) use in diabetic retinopathy referral
Shared decision-making for cataract surgery
Management of abdominal aortic aneurysms

All three of the above are of particular concern to me

I am diabetic,. I have had one cataract removed and am hoping to have the other removed at some point in the near future. And am walking around with an aortic Stent grafted in which at the moment requires regular check ups at the hospital.

Non of the above would I characterize as being cosmetic in their nature.

Exactly what I mean x

I see that the Eyes do not have it, but perhaps I will not be seeing at all in the future. Cataract surgery, glaucoma also in the firing line. As a stroke and heart survivor, the cartoid artery procedure and the angiogram and the angioplasty axing is of concern. And anyone can suffer an abdominal aortic artey problem out of the blue. Once again, they are axing preventative screenings and measures that will progress to requiring intensive intervention later.

I have a procedure booked on Monday, I have a time but not a place. The letter says I will be told by telephone where to go, But I have call blocking on my line so I suspect I will be a No Show simply because they cannot inform me in time to book transport. Typical cockup in progress.
