Keeping track of discussions

Hi I'm new in here + can't keep track of who I've spoken to in here and then randomly see someone has left me a comment, therefore I might have missed other comments + don't want others to think I'm a rude snob! Clicked on subscribed but that didn't seem to help. What am I doing wrong?
 
I bookmark any threads I have an interest in, that and notifications keeps me up to date.

I have a separate folder in Chrome Bookmarks called DCUK so they are easy to find.
 
You can click on the 'Watch Thread' tab or you can check in your personal comments/threads/post a section in your profile.
