Probably a good way to go. I shouldn't test unless sugars very high. I was 11.7 but had a headache so I thought I'd check and I'm so stressed lately I just get myself worked up over little things as well as the bigNope, I never check them to be honest.
Only time I might get concerned is if I hyper serverly.
Yes. I need to keep remembering that. My endo has also told me this before but I guess when I feel unwell I think of worst case scenarios and check. Crazy I knowI've had Type 1 for 25 years and i've never checked them once.
If your blood sugar measurements are in a reasonable range, there should be no reason to.
Does anyone stress when they have normal range ketones ? Mine are currently 0.3 and I know this is still considered a normal value. I haven't eaten for a few hours as well which can put them up but anything over 0.1 freaks me out. I don't know why. I stress so much over every number theses days.
Thank you yes I wouldn't consider 11 very high either. Late teens and beyond is high for me but I went ahead and checked anyways@Sharrryn Arh! stress, yes that can be an unfogiving thing seen it in a fair few friends over the years.
However even at 11.7 I would not consider that high, when I said high I was talking 18-20+ ~shudder~.
Headaches can be caused by many things as you know, I have sometimes had them when around that level but not often.
Take care.
Thank you. Yes I'm not helping myself by stressing over a normal level I know. Just having a rough time at the moment so everything seems catastrophic.Hi Sharrryn, I can understand why people stress over every number when they have diabetes! When you look at the numbers that come back for your regular blood tests, they can overwhelm you to begin with. However, just look at the reference ranges for all of those different tests, they are wide and varied and that is because there is NO magic, perfect number, our bodies are all unique and no two are EVER the same. Think of the ketones like that, if it's under 0.6 it is absolutely NORMAL. There is enough to worry about without focusing on a result that is normal.
Thanks for that infoKetone of 0.3 just shows you body is making use of a little fat. This is to be expected as body fat is after all an energy storage system. This seems to, be a good writeup

Note you need levels over 10 times as much as you are getting for there to be a Y risk of DKA.
