Hi, a urine test has just shown my albunin/creatinine ratio as 3.16, should be less than 3. Anyone had this borderline figure? What treatment did you have. Can it be caused by a UTI? Does it mean kidney failure?

I had a high number once @DiabeticDi , can't remember the figure, but it's immaterial, as when they retested a couple of weeks later, it was back to normal. I'd hope your surgery would do this, but if they don't I'd suggest you ask for it to be repeated.

Thank you! Yes they have asked for a repeat. Don't know how long to wait though?

I had similar over the winter months when I was ill with something else, I think they waited 2 weeks between tests. Mine eventually came back down to where I usually sit, can’t recall my numbers but I’ve had slightly leaky kidneys but very stable for the last 14 years, I’m slightly elevated but nowhere near kidney failure, my DSN & GP are not concerned at all.

I am on a low dose of blood pressure tablets which I’m on to further protect my kidneys, I’ve never had high blood pressure
