Wondering if anyone had had more episodes of stones or gravel since being diagnoses with type 2. I had a kidney stone about 2 years ago, horrible pain, and hospital, mri etc. it passed naturally. I had no idea i may be diabetic then. Diagnosed type 2, 3 months ago and am in the middle of what seems to be grit passing. Lots of blood, cystitis type symptoms yesterday, no pain today but still blood. I am wondering if this is going to happen more often now i have diabetes
Hi @Tanis I had a monster stone this year and can't help but wonder if "pre-diagnosis peeing a lot" could lead to stones. My stone has now gone, but my urologist says I should drink lots of water every day to prevent another stone forming. If I were you, I would go to my GP to be checked as you should never ignore blood in your pee even if you think it is from a stone. As diabetics, our kidneys are extra precious now.

Went to Dr. and she is sending me to Consultant fast track to check out bladder cancer! I know from previous experience that its 99% kidney stone/grit so am not happy to be going through camera into bladder and other stuff. Never have pee'ed alot. This 'episode' lasted 4 days and now is fine again. Better to be safe than sorry i suppose.

I am sure you will be fine but yes, better to be safe than sorry. I had two cystoscopies this year and can honestly say that they are less uncomfortable than a smear. They just sound worse on paper. Fast tracking is normal for your symptoms so try not to be alarmed. You can send me a private message if you need to chat.
