Hi all!
Just wondered if anyone else had been in this position...diagnosed Lada a year ago and overactive thyroid too (Graves). Have been treating with carbimazole and my bloods yesterday show it's now underactive! My doc is amazing and is contacting endocrinology but anyone else been here and suggest what may happen next?! Thanks in advance lovely people!!

When I had Graves many years ago, I was constantly monitored and doses were adjusted as necessary. It may be that you have gone into remission, in which case you may be able to come off carbimazole - hope this is the outcome for you.

Thanks Julie56! I think so too just curious...hopefully a very simple solution, coming off carbimazole! I guess from your reply this is what happened to you and you've been good ever since?! Hope so...

Burlsygirl - Although many experience a very settle time with their thyroid, once their medication is adjusted to an appropriate level, others can experience quite significant swings in the thyroid performance over time.

My mother had an over active thyroid, but her only symptom was thyroid eye disease,......... in one eye. Not both, just one!

To be honest, it took a very long time to actually reach a diagnosis, because the Docs seemed certain she must have some pathology impacting the positioning of her eye. Once they had exhausted all the scans and decided what it was, it was already easing, without pharmaceutical intervention. She never took meds.

Most GPs, in my personal experience are a bit scared of hormonal issues, and most Endo's find their specialism to be in diabetes.

When I started having issues with my thyroid, I joined a Health Unlocked forum, for thyroid matters. It is the thyroid equivalent of here for those with diabetes. There are also plenty over there who have both issues in play.

In your shoes, I'd go over and have a read. If it is of interest you can always join up. I learned a lot from the people over there.

Thanks @DCUKMod for the link, will give it a read tomorrow

Hi again! All good here - thyroid hopefully settling since meds changed but blood sugars on the up!!

Testing now 10/11 fasting and peaking at 17ish during the day! Hoping to hear back from docs in next couple if days. Saw endocrinologist last Friday, cancellation appointment, and a bit frustrated as he had no idea about
'You're a 1.5 - I've only met a couple before'!
We'll see...hope you guys all well?

I second that- the forum is awesome.
