Glad to hear that you've got a new doctor to see, and soon
Gary Schneider's book "Think Like A Pancreas" details various different insulin regimes and also the one which you plan to do. It is apparently a very effective MDI regime if done right
It comprises of a low basal dose in the morning to keep you steady between meals, rapid insulin across your meals and snacks and then NPH at night - timed to peak alongside your DP.
Have you used a rapid insulin before instead of a short acting one like your Actrapid?
