Lantus - what's protocol here?

I would be quite narked too, mirror. Sorry to hear things have gotten this severe. It must feel like they don't know what they're doing, I imagine?

Does she have all the right specialists and are they working together?

And yes I'm interested in updates, and I'm pretty sure the others are too. Thanks for keeping us in the loop... I wish there was something we could do to help. But just know I am thinking of you all. I think you are doing amazingly well.

Hope they do get to the bottom of it all but it may take time by the sound of it. You've all been through such a lot recently hopefully things will start to get back on track. Wishing you all the very best and keep us posted.

things looking up. she is in the high dependency unit , they think best guess is low blood glucose insulted the liver and possibly in conjunction with paracetemol ended up making it fail as it needs 2 things - oxygen and glucose (levels in blood of paracetemol not high enough for intentional overdose but she has had it daily for months) . they have sent off bloods to see about other possibilities like autoimmune hepatitis but consider it unlikely.
if things progress as expected without any complications then the liver should make a full recovery. the kidneys are damaged, but will be functional to all intents and purposes.

Good to hear, thanks for the updates.

And HDU are looking after her properly ?!?

hopefully
shes being difficult apparently - medicating her up in order to keep her from being too tricky though.
being asked now to go in lunch and tea time to bring food - eg mc donalds to encourage her to eat and avoid ng tube.

@mirror how are things going now?
