Provided your eyesight has returned to normal and you can read a number plate at the required distance (just forget what it is) you should be fine, ask the Ophthalmologist when you attend the laser session.
As far as I'm aware you have to notify the DVLA if the laser surgery is to both eyes, but again the Ophthalmologist will say whether this is right or wrong
No not because your having laser treatment, I had laser treatment and still managed to keep my licence, but the DVLA do request that you attend a field vision test and depending on the results they'll make a decision to allow you to drive or not.
When I renewed my licence 3 years ago they didn't request a field vision test but had the previous times, I think this because I'd not had any issues with retinopathy for a number of years and my eye sight tests were normal so there was no cause for concern.
