laser question


Hi there
Yes I do think that is what is means, depending on the severity of the eye problem and the amount of lasering involved . Not sure if that is any help to you though. Best wishes RRB
 
Thanks for that robin ... it's such a long time I wonder if that is because of vision being improved because of rewiring in the brain?

Yes, stress does play a big part doesn't it :?:
 
I couldn't see anything in your link SG, however if you are asking does the laser treatment continue to work after the lasering has stopped......then the answer is YES.
 
Well I was told that it would take 3-4 months for the laser to work, and after my last laser appointment told that I did not need to be seen in the eye hospital for 4 months. I was a bit suprised as they'd said my retinopathy was quite bad so I would have thought thye may want to just check it was working. Anyway, it wasn't because six weeks later I start bleeding - it hadn't worked (enough) and when I questioned the doctor he said that as it had been over a month since my last laser appointment it would have worked by now if it was going to. So I ended up a bit confused over that one.
 
You do the the impression that if you speak to different consultants you get different opinions which makes you wonder :?.

I thought the reason you got the bleeds was because the laser had worked but unfortunately some of the shrinking new blood vessels had started to bleed?
 


That's what I thought at first too as that's what consultant no. 1 said. Consultant 2 said that I had not had enough laser done as it had not been enough to shrink the new vessels. Consultant 3 (the private one) said that more laser on its own would be ineffective as the vessel is growing into the jelly and that its' only when they are on the surface that laser would work. So I will need a full vitrectomy with endo laser and surgical removal of the vessels. So god knows what would have happened if I'd stuck with the NHS!
