Type 2 Late night treat

A long time ago I learned that if I had no carbs after 4-5pm then my BS got lower over a period of about four days. It's long time since I had a late night snack so I don't know what would happen if I did so.

You probably need to confirm that with further testing but (for me) that'd way too late. I'm done at 7 pm at the latest and that is ONLY if I stay up to 11 p.m. Prefer my system to deal with it whilst I'm awake ... at least as much as it can.

I think the general advice is to go to bed at least 3 hours after your last meal. I haven't had supper since I was a child and never feel the urge, so I can't be of much help really.

I find it doesnt matter what time I eat or what I eat, my BS is always in the 4s and 5s now. As everyone is different your best bet would be to do more testing maybe eat your yoghurt and fruit every second night but still test every morning to see if the morning readings after you havnt had your snack the night before are lower than the nights when you do.

@Mrsmac247 - I'm not a snacker, so pretty useless giving you any view on that, but I just wanted to ask how the munchkin's doing, and how you're coping with it all too?

@AndBreathe thank you. Baby is ok very frustrated at being in the cast and is waking at least 3 times during the night or staying up. Poor thing. I've been feeling the strain with the night waking and looking after her during the day and am noticing my by rising from low 6 high 5 in the morning to 7.7 and 6.6 upwards! It may be that I just have to focus on her for a while because besides from her op, I believe I am eating the samw

There's the potential that the stress of the experience will be nudging your numbers up, and let's be frank, there's probably little you can do about the stress for a little while at least. And then, of course, if your sleep patterns are even more disturbed than usual, that'll potentially, just pile in too.

Now, clearly I'm not saying, just reach for the naughties and to heck with it all. If you can just keep yourself to the straight and narrow, you may be extremely "fortunate" and have a glimmer of silver lining in there if your activity levels (around the lifting and managing of the baby, in the cast) have gone up a bit.

We can only do what we can do, but do keep an eye on things, and take action if things go up a lot, but please don't ask me what I mean by a lot, because I have no idea right now!
