Been on the LC diet ever since I was diagnosed with T2 and my HBA1C have gone from 6.5 to 5.2 (gradually). Lost about 14 kilos in between and am now sitting at 71.
However, I am very concerned about lab tests - my neutrophils have declined from 3.7 to 2.6, and most recently 2.1. The normal range is 2.0 - 8.0. Lymphocytes have declined from 2.7 to 1.6, but in the most recent test, it was 4.1, which could be attributed to an infection I'm fighting off recently. My AST/ALT levels are also slightly elevated.
My platelet count has also been steadily reduced from 253 to 197 (normal range is 150-450). My haemogloin count similar dropped from 153 to 135 most recently. Many of these readings are just hovering slightly above what is considered normal. If this continues, the next blood test will definitely drop below normal levels.
The reduced immunity also shows - I have had 2 gum infections in the last 12 months (first 2 in my life) and now I'm fighting this unknown viral infection in my body. I have been exercising more than ever. This is definitely getting me worried.
Is anyone experiencing the same? My weight has stabilised and I'm no longer losing weight, but my numbers have kept dropping. I am worried if this is a sign of something much more serious in the body.
