HI, yes i have just started testing. Eaten one slice once in while of Burgen low carb and was ok wasn't sure if it was ok to do everyday. But i suppose that just depends on me and how i react. I would just really like to stop feeling so tired. So was hoping almost no carbs would help this? Thanks for the suggestion, maybe i will try this more often. Do you have a slice everyday?Are you testing? If so, try heavily seeded bread or one of the low carb breads such as Livlife or Burgen. I can manage one slice of Hovis 7 seeds wholemeal, which has loads of fibre in it. I have tested it and I'm fine with one slice. I can't manage 2 slices. You will only get to know this if you test.
I will give the flaxseed in my yoghurt a go. ThanksRe constipation- I'm still not as regular as I was pre LC but drinking plenty of water( and I mean plenty!) helps along with a dessert spoon of flaxseed/linseed on my yogurt.
Re cholesterol, I think NICE guidelines are 4 for diabetics though there's plenty of debate around what levels mean, what they should be etc.
I think that you have to work your own best version of the diet out. I personally don't eat full fat versions of dairy products apart from the odd bit of cheese and don't use butter, but I do use olive oil and eat the fat on my meat. If you look at the diet doctor site there are links to other advocates of the diet who make suggestions for moderating fat intake if you have cholesterol issues. I think it's a case of not going overboard on the fat- it's very energy dense so you don't actually need much to replace the energy from the dropped carbs.

I know I have not been doing this long, buy my BG got down to 6.1 but the last four readings taken over this last week have all been 9.0.
I was hoping to see them keep going down.

Morning Davey! I'm a little perplexed this morning - as per my post in my thread about first ever levels! Got my code free yesterday, was 7.7 four hours after eating at midday yesterday, ate at 6pm at work, not eaten since- just about to have something and tested 7.3??? I was expecting lower!! Been lchf for 6 days now. My test results at diagnosis was 7.6 ???!!! My nurse practitioner told me to stop the met on Friday as I rang to ask for slow release due to the bad tummy side effects, got to see him tomorrow night instead!!
