Hello,

Have been quiet for few months but here we go. I had a lipid profile test in Jan and the results are as below. It seems my TC went up from 4 in last test.

mmol/L : ( TC = 4.7, TG = .79, LDL = 3.1, HDL =1.2)
mg/dl : ( TC = 182 , TG = 70, LDL = 120.1 , HDL =47)

Feedback welcome on what cant be tweaked.

I am hitting gym twice a week for strength training and cardio/tennis on sundays.

Thanks all .I am just concerned about LDL score being high and HDL being just on lower end of normal.

My diet consist of lots of nuts and double cream and coconut oil along with other low carb veg and meat. Was hoping that LDL would reduce and HDL increase on it.

LDL sometimes increases on LCHF, but trigs reduce a lot, and they are the real bad ones. Your trig score is great, and overall figures fine. Don't worry.

Hi @nsh2111,

Really great cholesterol numbers -- well done.

Most of the time, LDL isn't measured directly (too expensive), but instead calculated based on the other three numbers. For this, usually the Friedewald formula is used, which tends to overestimate LDL when trigs are low. For this reason, many suggests using the Iranian formula for more accurate results in this case.

When I plugged in my numbers, LDL came out to be 20 points lower using the Iranian formula. Here is a link if you are interested https://www.thecalculator.co/health/LDL-Calculator-683.html.
