I eat lentils about 5 times a week for lunch (i make a big batch to take to school and make into a salad), but whenever i eat them, i inject before, eat them, and then go low right away. then i correct and then go high. does this mean i should inject afterwards? i use the correct ratio and don't ever overeat when low (i use 15g carb to get me back to a normal level). if anyone could help with this i'd be very grateful!

I would love to eat lentils but I think for us they're quite difficult when you're on insulin because of their very slow release make-up. I'm on a pump so I would be able to get round it (if I tried) by taking a smaller % of my fast acting insulin up front and then using my pump to deliver a smaller amount of insulin over a period time e.g. 4/5 hours. As I say, I haven't done it with lentil so not sure if it would work. If you're on injections then maybe you would need to reduce insulin by half and then do a couple of smaller adjustments over the next few hours. Hopefully someone will come along and advise us how it's done.
