Im finding i always have high blood sugar readings in the morning, up to 14mmol. I don't think I'm going low overnight as i usually wake up if i have a hypo. I've tried having different sugar levels when going to bed but doesn't seem to change things. Don't now if i should be increasing or decreasing my levemir dose! Does anyone have any ideas?

My sugar levels in the day are generally fine and I have reasonably good control. I used to take lantus so levemir is quite new for me. I may try gradually increasing my evening dose and if that helps. Thanks again.

My understanding is (and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong) is that your levemir dose has nothing to do with eating, for example if you took your levemir as normal and then didn't eat all day your levels should remain steady and stable hence it is the basal. A couple of sleepless nights basal testing and getting your dose right could save a lot of trouble in the long run
