Anyone say how they get on with airport security wearing a patch ie can you wear it when being xray scanned and taking a spare through security. Tried asking Abbotts and all they said was get in touch with the airport?

The FreeStyle Libre can be passed through airport metal detectors so you are okay to keep your sensor on while going through these.
It should not be exposed to full-body scanners (i.e. x-ray or millimetre radio-wave).
To avoid removing your FreeStyle Libre sensor, you should request another type of screening to be performed by the security officer.
If in doubt about the type of security scan you are passing through, notify the security officer prior to proceeding through the airport security checkpoint.
Remember to bring medical evidence such as a letter from a medical practitioner, to confirm your medical device. Have this ready to show the security officer."

I've been through airports several times wearing mine with no problems. I do point it out to the guard but I'm not sure they know what is!

I have taken Libre (attached and new) through airport security with no trouble.
I do not tell security about my personal medical condition unless they ask. For example, I would only mention the Libre if the alarm goes off. It never has.

I have been through a few times now. Tell the person doing the scanning and have your paperwork ready. If you go on Abbotts website there is a statement there stating you should not walk through the x-ray so I also have that printed. Unfortunately I have had 1 bad experience at East Midlands earlier this year. As much as I just wanted to disappear because the woman was making a big scene I stood my ground. I emailed the airport suggesting some employee training but was ignored.
