Libre 2plus

'best' might be subjective, but I use an Samsung A54 and it works fine with my 2+. Note that my endo recently prescribed Libre 'Select' and it was a nightmare as I still had (and have) 2+ sensors and the 2 & select require separate, not at all compatible, apps.. so having both apps on my phone caused loads of issues... I'm sure it will be fine when I move entirely to just select and only have one app installed and not two (for now I have disabled the select when using 2+ sensors and it's ok, but my advice is stick with 2+ if you can... Select doesn't allow you to change the alarm tones and it does a horrible home page when opening instead of showing your BG immediately when you open the app like on the 2+.. sorry for the digression...
Anyway, back to 'best' : https://www.freestyle.abbott/us-en/compatibility

Could I please ask you what a Libre select is as I have never heard of it and assumed the next upgrade would be to a Libre 3 .

Which is the best galaxy phone to use with the libre
I have an A50 and although the Libre works, having Bluetooth on really slows down all other apps and drains the battery. I'm looking to upgrade soon, maybe an a17, whatever the newest one in £200 range is?
Check the Bluetooth version is what ai is advising me.

I think you are right.. the upgrade would be to a Libre3 (it's smaller and seemingly better features) but it's not available yet on healthcare system where I live in France. At least here, my endo says that the Select is an upgrade from the 2+ which aapparently is not going to be available soon at least here (not sure though as I've also read the opposite!).. however the sensor is exactly the same size and 15d duration is the same.. I personally find it worse that the 2+ (but others have reported the opposite).
