LIBRE IS STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS

Hello. I have this come up usually when my blood levels have been high and are dropping rapidly. I scan again 15-20 minutes later and a reading is given. Hope this helps

See attached. An all too common an occurrence.

My understanding is this happens when blood sugars are dropping or rising very fast. It’s frustrating but I’d still have a sensor over constant fingers pricks. Maybe the libre 3 will be better with this, the tech is improving all the time.

I cannot believe we are still discussing the fact that at times when glucose levels in interstitial fluid are rising or falling rapidly that a glucose monitor sensor may have difficulty producing instantaneous glucose data for the user and will ask the user to check again at some point in future (e.g. 10 minutes).

Anyone interested in the underlying intellectual property on which these glucose sensor products are based and protected and who cares to read the historical patents for this type of technology will know that this is a long well known "limitation" of all of these glucose sensor products.

The various medical regulators who licence these sensor products around the world for use by diabetics are aware of this long known "limitation."

If this long known limitation of glucose sensor products is an issue for any user, I believe there is zero chance of any medical devices regulator revoking the licence of any manufacturer who makes those sensor products from the market.

I have no doubt all of the manufacturers who make these glucose sensor products are working to eliminate this limitation. Unfortunately to date they have been unable to do do.

To paraphrase Montgomery Scott of the USS Enterprise, one cannot change the laws of chemistry, physics and biology, captain!
