Sorry, my response was serious, not flippant. If they knew how to fix it I'm pretty sure they'd do it - why would they not do so? There's been enough people complaining about the adhesive to make it worth their while to sort. So "How can they not know" - if it's a hard problem to solve, they might genuinely not have an answer - not the first person you spoke to, nor their boss, nor anybody.
Yes, the blistering and sores will be dangerous if you don't do anything about them. From Abbot's perspective, the only option they'll give you is "don't use it, it's not going to work for you". There are other people who have investigated other solutions - barriers, compeed, replacing the adhesive with other types, etc, but they'll not be something Abbot can suggest.
