My names Charlotte, I'm 21 and I have Type 1 Diabetes. I got diagnosed four years ago July just gone and to say it's been easy would be lying and would turn in Pinocchio or something.
As of lately I've really been struggling and my blood sugars have been in double figures but alongside this I've been suffering with depression/anxiety. I've recently just lost my job due to severe problems with depression and my anxiety levels have been through the roof.
For a while I've wanted to start a blog on diabetes awareness as more of a first person look on how the disease affects day to day life. So far I've had a lot of interest and had many people contact me saying how much of an eye opener my blog has been but I need your support. Unfortunately these days social media blocks out of a lot of posts so my blog isn't being seen. It would be amazing if some of you could give my blog a look and maybe give suggestions.
I want to spread this awareness especially for people my age and a bit younger in teen years as many people don't understand how hard this disease can be.
If you have social media please could you share my blog link or if you have any questions message me on my profile on Facebook "Charlotte Hill"

Good luck with the new job. Had a quick look at the blog and it looks quite professional but friendly as well. Have you seen your gp about the depression/anxiety? I'm sure he/she can give you something to help get you through. Although it's been 4 years since you were diagnosed, that's not all that long really and like most of us you've found it difficult to come to terms with the big D. Keep up the blog and keep in touch with the forums. There's a lot of help and encouragement if you need it.

Thankyou I'd rather it be more approachable else it wouldn't suit what I'm aiming for. Yeah I have I've been on and off anti depressants but unfortunately every one I've tried has made my blood sugars really bad. They made me have several hypos during the night and it became too dangerous to carry on taking them. Yeah it's still very new really just wish I had the will power to get myself back together and feel better rather than groggy all the time. Thankyou
I also have a joint Facebook page if you're interested in looking at that? It's new and a working progress but it's there the same as a forum I guess https://www.facebook.com/type1awareness

Let me know if you need any animations / film / ambient music for your T1 awareness. I have free time and I am happy to put it to use by creating potentially helpful media.
Design of the blog is very good, shared it via twitter. Hope it helps.
My control has been pretty poor for the past few years, a problem excerbaited by strange college working hours and a shoddy lack of routine and in the general sense, stability. What the Dr's reckoned helped me and my rather surprising HBA1C's is the fact the I tested my bloods more frequently. The more numbers you put down, the better you can understand if you're fasting, rising or declining count and that you get a map of the times control is good and bad. It's all about routine. However I can preach this all I want, I should really practice it lel .

Ah that would be fab do you have Facebook? Can discuss it though there. I wish I was good at stuff like that yet I'm useless haha. Yeah mine went though stages of being good but now it's bad again I've really struggled today I've carb counted everything I've had but my bloods have been high. I have a cold coming so that's not helping

Yeah, no problem

**** that blows, having bad days terrible without diabetes. D only exacerbates matters. I quess sometimes it can feel like the insulin isn't working, no matter how much you carb or correct? And the colds, they last for weeks, oh dear.

Yeah all the **** time my insulin today did nothing so I had more and my bloods currently are really high. It's like a never ending battle I feel! Awesome I'll add you and take a look at your website
