I recently attended a pain management clinic which was run by a spotty young woman who obviously wasn't enjoying a healthy diet :? Five minutes into the clinic, she leaned over my chair, patted my cheek and said to the rest of the motley crew "Isn't she sweet" Two things she has learned, don't patronise fat little old ladies, and I'm NOT sweet!
Shan't be going back

Really hate it when people get so patronising. I was at the db clinic and the young nurse got a form for me to fill in. She immediately crouched down next to my chair and started to read it to me, pointing to the places where I had to put in the answers! I asked her if she did that for everybody,to which she looked quite shocked and said she was only trying to help. I reminded her that I might be 75 but I'm not senile - yet! However, to some extent it's all part and parcel of being in the oldies group and as long as it's not too demeaning I find it's best to let it ride.

Hi Foxy, some people never learn, and assume once you hit sixty everything stops. When I remarked to a young friend that her boyfriend was really "fit" she reeled in horror! As I explained all my faculties still work, more slowly perhaps, but she was so shocked bless her!

Oh dear!
last week, I was mistaken for my granddaughter's"Mummy" as I tried to get the buggy into the John Lewis Ladies toilet. I'm 62, she's 18 months. Some people just can't guess age or think sensibly.
Still; trying to help, although patronising, is at least, KIND
