You did well to find it in Preston. Always hidden on the top shelf and pushed backwards so it appeared there was none in stock. Almost never available for delivery. No doubt because it couldn't be found by the pickers. I complained a few times. Also wrote to Waitrose to complain and ask them to go back to their buyers for the obvious reasons. They just stated it was low demand and would pass my comments on. If you do see it please let me know. On my last frozen slices. It is showing as out of stock in Preston (for a few weeks) but there is still an SEL?
i contacted Lidl head office a while back to enquire about carbs in the ‘low GI’ loaf and there were more than in the sourdough rolls per 100gm. Can’t remember the amounts but I stick with Sainsburies hi-lo as a result. Yes please to any recipe suggestions.Lidl do a "low GI" unsliced loaf now and there are also some part-baked rolls and thins similar to the Warburtons ones, but I don't know what the macro's are as I'm trying not to have any bread products (they're the carb I struggle with the most)
A year or so back I asked Lidl about the macros. Not great and not really any different to the other breads. (Although it does taste ok)Lidl do a "low GI" unsliced loaf now and there are also some part-baked rolls and thins similar to the Warburtons ones, but I don't know what the macro's are as I'm trying not to have any bread products (they're the carb I struggle with the most)
Breadmaking is super easy. You need to make it if there are 2 of you eating it ,then freeze it. U tube or All Recipies probably has several versions. You will prolly like your version when you start baking.Hi All
I've just discovered Waitrose have delisted Livlife bread - the only supermarket that sells it. I'm sure many of you who regularly buy it know it's the best (and frankly the only) decent low carb bread available in main supermarkets.
I totally rely on it to keep my carbs in check, and whenever I go to buy it it's usually sold out (I have to get loaves put aside for me first thin in the morning if I'm not going to get to a store before midday!). So it can't be because it's not selling... it's clearly incredibly popular, I imagine largely with us diabetics!
I've been trying to contact them to get a reason, but am waiting for a response from their customer services. My mum (also Type 1 and a Livlife convert) spoke to the supplier, who said Waitrose have cancelled their supply contract, and as they were the only supermarket they were supplying with it, they have now ceased production.
I honestly am going to really struggle without it, and I'm sure there are many others here who feel the same.
I think our best hope is to all contact Waitrose customer services and register complaints, ad hopefully this will encourage them to reverse their decision. We need to try to make them understand how important specialist products like this are to communities like ours...
So please, if anyone else who buys Livlife is going to miss it, let's try to knock some sense into the Waitrose buying team! Thanks xx
I was eating the Dillon bread but have gone on to the SRSLY low carb co although more pricey, the bagels are to die for and the Dillon bread was spiking me where as the new brand doesn't. I only have it on my work out days thoughAt the moment, I have been eating this. From Holland and Barret. On sale at 3.74 from 4.99 250g. Taste is ok. But Livlife better in taste n texture.
Glad that it’s working for you but if it’s these (and it may not be but still possibly useful for someone) then the carbs are higher than normal bread! Or was it the triangles ones? I thought those were discontinued years ago. Please let us know where you got them if it is these ones as they were goodI've never tried the HiLo or the LivLife breads, but I've tried a few other low-carb breads, which I mainly didn't like. I've been using the Lidl high protein part-baked rolls, which are very nice, and have 18.8g carbs and 15.8g protein per roll. They don't seem to cause much of a rise to my blood glucose either.
