I've been on lantus for around 8 years and not noticed it effecting my eyes, as with all drugs the side-effects can vary from person to person so it could be possible.
The patient information only says that it can effect the eyesight when experiencing a hypoglycemic attack......which is quite logical and much the same for any insulin that lowers blood glucose.
