Does anyone else have this problem? When my sugar is low I can take glucose gel, coke, food etc to try to bring it up - sometimes it works but other times it stubbornly remains low till 12 - 24hours later when it skyrockets because of all the sugary inputs.
I notice your on a Novomix30 regime?
Sounds possibly like your dosage might be set a little too high having to constantly feed a hypo till the insulin working profile tails off & the skyrocket.?
Just a guess..
Is this a recent problem with the hypos?
What sort of blood test results are you getting during the day?
You will probably need to see your health specialist & get the dosage tweaked.

How low is low? Pure glucose is absorbed the fastest, it can even be absorbed through the mouth and gums so gel applied there may be quicker than swallowing it. Think it would be talking through with dsn or consultant, there are other options like glucagon injection which force liver and tissues to dump glucose. Good luck getting it sorted hypos are scary enough without undue delays.
