I'd like to say a huge thank you to the Forum, and everyone here. Although the standard of healthcare is actually very good here in Bulgaria, (I self-referred to the bloods lab at 8 am, took the results to my GP at 11:30, and walked into the Endocrinologist at 2 pm all in the same day) there's very little information available in English, so the Forums have been my lifeline. Without you I would never have learned about the LCHF diet, which has made a huge difference in just five weeks.
Here's my numbers:
Metformin 3 x 850mg, now reduced to 2 x 500mg
Weight 8 Kilos (17 pounds) off
Blood Pressure down from 168/108 average to 112/81 average (no meds)
HbA1c down from 8.3% to 6.0%
Fasting BG from 13.2 to 5.46
Triglycerides down from 5.76 MMOL/L to 2.0
All of which has left a huge grin on my face.
So thank you everyone, here's to continuing progress
