I wanted to pass on some information to anyone like myself who wants to do A Low Carb diet but a little worried about it. I have today come across in the paper an article by Robin Ellis who stared in the original pol dark. He was diagnosed 16 years ago and has written his own cookery books for low carb. This is something I have wanted and he explains all the changes he made so I am now more confident to give it a try.

Hi, you might also like to take a look at Trudi Deakins book on low carb diets. To a great extent though, you just need to learn which foods to avoid - a lot of what I eat on my LCHF diet is the same as previously just minus potatoes, bread, rice, pasta, etc.

Good luck!

Oh, my (older, also T2D) sister loved that incarnation of Poldark! I'm sure she'd like his cookbook, and it might help her transition into a LC way of eating. Thanks for sharing this info!

I have always when shopping got everything light or lighter but then you lose the taste, so I am going to start buying original products but be limited on their use.Robin says no white rice pasta or bread but I hope to expand on this when his book comes. I am so glad it will help your sister. He also has a meditarranian book coming out in March I am getting. I need it all explained in a book for me not good at planning meals.

An update got my Robin Ellis delicious dishes for Diabetics only took two days to get here.Lovely Recep es starting low carb straight away. I just need to get breakfasts organised now.

There are a few threads about LC breakfasts - with or without eggs
