rude people, state the country is now in, and how diabetes is monitored..
I have been following the low carb, low cal diet for one month and gained 2 pounds.Prior to that I just ate a healthy diet and had lost 2 pounds, but had gained 2 inches.I havent dared measure myself this time.
I have been advised to return to normal healthy diet by diabetic nurse.I was finding with low carb I had some diarrhea ,but also that I had headaches and didn't feel too well, also I had a few low blood sugars and slight dizziness. The diarrhea has got worse following the norvo virus.Things are much better that way although I am going slightly more frequently .
As my blood sugars were lower I am hesitant to go back on the healthy eating diet.. they have switched my metaformin to slower acting one.I am taking 14 units of nororapid,3 times a day and 55 lantus each day. When I had diarrhea last week I stopped all metaformin and nororapid and just had lantus. Now my numbers are creeping up to the tens before meals I am back using nororapid and haven't tried the slow acting metaformin yet. Any advice please?I just feel I am being passed around and no better knowledge what to eat or do.since taking insulin 3 years ago my weight and inches have increased.

Maybe you should consider a Low Carb High Fat diet, with enough fat like butter and olive oil (or try coconut oil) in your diet, you will sustain better and be able to go lower in carbs - less than 30g/day. I'm not diabetic my self but was heading that way, now 7 months after doing less than 20g of carbs/day I've lost almost 1,5 stone. Going a check up next week and believe my blood lipids will be better than 6 months ago. Check out this link - http://www.dietdoctor.com/lchf
