Low Carb Programme on NHS?

It's a good programme too - I signed up ages ago. There's a lot of good advice put across in an easy way. It's just following it that seems to be my issue....

It is being run basically NHS and by the owners of this site and the company that bought Bayer Diabetes Care who kindly provided me with my contour next one meter.

And I think that's good news for T2 diabetics and many others who are headed that way if nothing is done.

That was a very long process, as you might expect. Ascensia have had no hat in the ring as far as delveloping or the adoption of the programme, but the relationship with them is important to the ongoing distribution model.

It makes me feel even if erroneously, that we all here have had a hand in this and we have to some extent made a difference and we no longer seem to be a lonely voice in the wilderness.

I think having Ascensia on side whatever their roll is a big plus and I do applaud and thank DCUK for all their efforts.

Hello i have been a bad diabetic in the past i mean a BAD diabetic but november 2017 woke my soul, On a low carb diet in 2016 i lost 28 pounds in 2 months ( i can do it when i set my mind to it) but i was getting ready for tenerife and boom the next 6 months i put it all back on but nov 2017 woke me up made me see sense ? but i am working on a balance diet with low carbs if that makes sense 5 days it's pure low carbs. Saturday treat day and Sunday i have a full roast but smaller portions now of course i have lost 4 stone and another 3 stone to come off i do 3 to 5 miles a day on my exercise bike i have 2 -10 pound weights i work with as well the new doctor knows i am up for it now and he is helping me get off the insulin. I changed Doctors as my old never listened to me just gave me the medication but the new practice listen's as we are all different?? and he sent me to see the nhs dietitian told her i was on a low carb diet and of course she wants me on a balanced diet and set me targets, Got to see her Jan 23 2019 smashed that target of 100 k easy i am 63 lived my life how i wanted then broke my fibula and tibia and when the surgeon says you must get your diabetes under control or you lose the leg it wakes you up?? low carb works but i found with just low carb i could easily put a few pounds on if i went back to normal food even just for xmas but mixing it with a balance diet and low carbs it works better and 4 stone ( 56 pounds) proves that and i am keeping it off. up at 6am this morning 30 mins hard work out gotta do the exercise as well. The point of this Low carb or not do wants best for you My NHS dietitian would not even talk about low carb wait till i have lost the other 3 stone and tell her i have been on low carbs for 5 out the 7 days.

I can't wait they do similar thing for type 1 .... Maybe in 10 years ...

I’m trying to join. It won’t accept any passwords? I’ve checked requirements and tried a few different ones. Is anyone else having issues?
