Hi everyone
I have been diet control for my t2 diabetes for 3 months now and my sugar level readings couldn't get any better feel like a different woman since diagnosis on December. My concern is yesterday I had a low sugar reading of 3.5 could anyone tell me can you have a hypo that is dangerous when you are diet control your help will be appreciated

Great to hear doing well on diet and that you are feeling better.
It is highly unlikely that you will get a significant hypo on diet alone, practically zero chance.
There are occasions when even non-diabetic folk can go hypo but extremely rare, and generally in the setting of other very obvious problems such as alcohol intoxication or multiple severe illnesses.
Best wishes

And your avatar is incorrectly listing you as type 1, where a 3.5 reading would be rather different to a 3.5 in a diet controlled type 2.

Thank you for replying and your well wishes that's a lot of my mind it's the first time I've had a low reading like that since diet control and got a little worried. I did notice it said type 1 will try sort that out thanks

Agree with this posting, since diet control has no indigenous method for bgl lowering that would be considered dangerous.

Are you taking any supplements? Some can lower bgl, but because they are not MEDS then are often added as dietary goodies. The ones I have used that have shown promise in bgl lowering are chromium, cinnamon, Bitter Melon, Gymnema Sylvestre. There are others where claims are also made, but i have not myself tried them.

Are you fitness training? weight lifting? running marathons. Extreme exercise on a low calorie diet may deplete glucose levels too.

Just some thoughts. It may help if you can describe more of your diet.

Sorry for the late reply, no I'm not taking any supplements I was taking metformin for 2 months when first diagnosed but was making me so ill I stopped taking them without my doctors permission was so determined I could do this diet control and so glad I did I've lost two stone on the lchf diet I don't have anymore than 20g of carbs a day and also fast. My excersice is walking to my 2 cleaning jobs and clean 7 hours a day I'm always active. Thank you for the reply
