Please can anyone give me some advice on this?
The last few months I have felt really tired, feel cold most of the time (wearing a fleece in the office when everyone's in t-shirts) and have struggled to lose any weight despite 8 hours a week in the gym ?(1.5 hrs cardio - treadmill/cycling, 30 mins weights & powerplate) and eating a low-carb diet.
I have cut my insulin by almost half and my control has improved immensely.
I went to the doctor to question whether I perhaps had an underactive thyroid, or Polycystic Ovaries as my symptoms seemed to fit. Both tests for these came back normal, however my testosterone level is below normal. The doctor didn't seem bothered, and even when I mentioned how hard I am working to lose weight, she just said that there is no magic wand, and maybe work harder at the gym!
Having done a little bit of research on it, it seems that my symptoms are typical of low testosterone, but I am unsure how to treat it since the doctor really doesn't seem to care.
Does anyone have any knowledge/experience of this? Should I get a second opinion? Would treating this address the weight issue???
Thanks all
