I found the glycemic index and glycemic load and changed everything around and got my A1C from 9 to 6.2 and lost 10 pounds in 8 weeks! (I think the A1C numbers are the same in Britain as Canada). I love to bake but usually didn't eat a lot of it but we did come across a few stores in town that were selling British food which caused my downfall - snowballs, caramel wafers, potato chips etc!! no need to say more. Anyway I stopped buying the bad food and now have new choices for baking and made Oat Flour and made banana loaf and it was awesome and I also used Oat Flour to make pancakes and used honey instead of sugar and applesauce instead of oil and they were delicious. I am enjoying my new way of eating!!

Well done @Canada Jean

Stick with it, the results are well worth the effort.
That quote is so true - my "punishment" in February was my knee replacement surgery was postponed because of my A1C but I don't see that as a punishment as the surgeon did it as he cares enough to get things to where they needed to be.
