2 of my kids are into it in a big way and have created all sorts of weird and wonderful virtual worlds-It does seem to be a big thing now with the kids-I haven't had a go with it myself as they won't let me near their XBoxes!
No - it's a support network for all parents! My husband is equally confused. Have you been subjected to stampy tutorials on you tube yet? I'm sure he is a perfectly nice chap but he has all the annoying qualities of a children's tv presenter! In our house he is fondly known as stompy no mates!Edit: Just realised it was a thread for mums-Hope you don't mind a Dad replying!

Nicola, you traitor! Look at the title of this thread! lol! You have gone to the dark side, as they say in Star Wars! Guess I'm just too old! My vices are trollbeads and irregular choice shoes. As well as floral Dr Martens! My three sons also play minecraft on their Xboxes quite a bit. My youngest (11) has created some amazing worlds on his, all from his imagination and when playing online with his friends they all build, create and make their own games within the game, ie cops n robbers, hunger games and now hide n seek. I did wonder what the fascination was until I got a xbox last year for my birthday and I tried playing minecraft. It is addictive and I must admit to cheering to myself when I came across diamonds when mining and the satisfaction of building something after finding the materials, sad I know, but hey ho. My kids also watch the minecraft videos on YouTube and I think it helps them with ideas.

Lol, the dark side!! As the only female in a house of four males, I got quite fed up with all four of them on their xboxes together playing the COD games so that's why I got a xbox, to be able to sit in peace away from shooting and shouting. Unfortunately there aren't many 'girly' games, I think that's why I don't mind minecraft, it's quiet and can stop and save in an instant.Nicola, you traitor! Look at the title of this thread! lol! Trust me, you are really not missing anything! Drives me nuts. If you go on you tube and type in minecraft you will see. Then you will pity us parents with children who are addicted to it. And laugh.I've never heard of it.
This upsets me greatly because it means I'm probably a grown up now......

The music fills me with dread. Prefer ipad - books and this forum. Although I did form an addiction to hidden wonders of the depths but have managed to work through that now!Lol, the dark side!!
