McDonald’s is great you know exactly how many carbs so how much insulin to take. If your type 2 then your kind of screwed you either have enough insulin or don’t and end high I get tired when I eat something stupid and up around 30.
 
Love bringing my cook kit with me when we have long journeys. Homemade soup always smells so much nicer than the food they sell in service stations.

Oooh! Where do you get that sauce?

It’s Laila Chilli & Garlic sauce - not quite carb free at 4.4g/100g but you need so little that I regard it as such. If I can manage a whole teaspoon it’s a miracle, and I like a vindaloo! I found it in a big Tesco in a litre bottle in Cardiff for about two quid. It’s awesome. It’s the stuff they use on kebabs, I think. I’ll trade you some for a bag of Lidl HPRs
 
Thank you! Love garlic/chilli, but they all usually have masses of sugar.

Edited: DRAT!!! It has aspartame in it. That is one that causes headaches for me.
However, while i was rummaging, I spotted Finest chilli and garlic oil. Just 3 ingredients. Gonna give that a try...

Try Googling Isle of Wight Garlic. They do a variety of sauces, pickles, relishes which are brilliant.

I’ve just had a look, and there is a bit of sugar in most of their products. However, the various sauces etc are so powerful that you don’t need much. eg the Vampire slayer - 3/4 drops in salad dressing would be more than enough.
 
I was out all day yesterday from 5:45am to 10 pm. I took soup, nuts, salad, cheese, tuna, strawberries and yoghurt with seeds. I was starving on the way home and as I drove past Mc D's I was sooooooooo tempted but I managed to resist - mainly because I have an HbA1c test on Thursday! Next Saturday may have a different outcome.......
 
Over the last few drives up the motorway visiting family at Christmas, I had McDonalds, Chicken strips. I think you can get five or seven with mayo dips. A bit bready, but you can nibble to worst off and you're left with just meat.
 
Better to have chicken nuggets if you have to they aren't great but not the worst for carbs.
 
I think just the burger and chuck the bun would be a far better option? No fries obvs

That is what I do. Tend to get 2 x quarter pounders with cheese, peel off the buns, the harsh pickles, the onion and most of the sickly tomato sauce, then eat the cheese and beefburger. Surprisingly palatable. But then both Maccies and BK now make a big thing about 100% beef in their burgers.

The problem is that when you don't have the fries or the bun, the meal is much smaller and less filling - which is why I buy 2 burgers.

(I am gluten free, and it is a darn sight easier to pull the buns off, than peel the coating off nuggets. Although of course someone with Coeliac or worse gluten intoerance than me would have to order a bunless burger or avoid the place entirely, for fear of contamination)
 
Could always make your own.

6 oz = 170 g fresh chili peppers
1/3 cup = 80 ml apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup = 60 ml Sukrin Gold
1 teaspoon organic onion powder
1/2 teaspoon unrefined sea salt or Himalayan salt
Clean the chili peppers and chop roughly. Place in a small saucepan.
Add the rest of the ingredients. Mix well.
Heat over high heat and bring to a boil.
Once the mixture is boiling, reduce the heat to minimum and cover the saucepan with lid.
Let simmer for 15 minutes or until the chiles are soft.
Puree the mixture with immersion blender until smooth.
Let cool down and refrigerate.

Add A bit of Garlic and bobs your uncle or aunt or cousin or what have you.

Oh and sukrin gold is a brown sugar stevia based alternative.
