Meet ups in Manchester area

Hi everyone I think I have tried to set a meet up before in the Manchester area but didn't get enough people. I know there are meet ups in the London area, but haven't seen anything here, let me know if any of you guys/girls would be interested .
 
Good luck @Padders91 Manchester is my birth home, but I live too far away in Hampshire.

Train down to Manc is about 2 hours so not impossible
I wouldn't drive there did that once and was going in wrong direction time after time trying to find Worsley terrified me
 
Thanks for the reply Cumberland and rrb, I thought it would be a good idea because I haven't seen anything around my area for people to meet up. I think it would help those that have just been diagnosed, and others who like myself have had type 1 for the best part of 11 years.
 
I'm in the middle in Birmingham! I keep intending to get to a London meet someday but they keep clashing with other things. I imagine Manchester would be just as easy for me on the train so I'd be interested.

Thanks for the reply guys/girls, I don't know how we would go about organising the venue date, time etc, do you guys think we should await to see how many responses we get then go from there, I haven't organised anything like this before so would need, general ideas of what people would like .
 
as a starter i would ask @ewelina and @Type1Bri for some input on how they do the organising for the london events.

I am about an hour or so from manchester and would be interested in attending.

given that it is summer hols right now perhaps an early autumn event would give people enough time to put it in their diary.
 
One bit of advice is to just sort a date and a venue first. If you ask what day, time and venue everybody wants then you will just get 100 different answers. If you tell people it is on Saturday at 1pm in the pub then if they really want to come they will make the effort and be there. It is impossible to please everybody all the time

Hi iv just joined this site not sure if I'm using it right though, I'm also in the Manchester area I'm 30 and had diabetes type 1 since I was 4 mines realy bad controlled at moment and I would be interested in meeting other peaple in the area,thanks

welcome to the forum.
this manchester meet up is proving to be a bit elusive.

there are a few of us interested in attending that need to commute - so we are hoping somebody that lives there and can suss out a venue will be able to name a date and venue-- keep watching.

as for you control right now -- if you wanted to start a new thread -- there are loads of great people here on the forum that I am sure can help and give some pointers that could help make it easier for you to get back a bit of the control .
