I've had type 1 diabetes for 3 years and this past year has been hard since I've been suffering with depression and anxiety, I've also been diagnosed with ASD. For 2 years my bloods have been between 4-7 but for this past year they've been around the 10s and 20s. Can my mood affect my blood sugar levels? If so has anyone got any advice how I could help it?

Hi Leilah.
From what I've heard stress can raise BG levels. Such is the insidious nature of diabetes that high BG levels can also affect your mood so it all feeds on itself.
I think the best thing to advise is that you discuss the anxiety issues with your medical people and maybe they can give you something to help.
Good luck.

Hello Leilah and welcome.

I have suffered with GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder) all my life and it has been debilitating to sat the least. I have taken anti depressants throughout my life (not at the moment though) and I have attended CBT which has helped.

Though I have to be honest I can't say it has played too much of a part in my control. I have always managed to keep things fairly stable.

I can totally relate to your anxiety issues though. I don't think people really know how bad it can get as they think it's just a case of "pulling yourself together" like we're a pair of curtains!

I agree with urbanracer, if your not already doing so discuss the anxiety with your medical professionals but also mention it to your diabetes team.

Hi and welcome. Your bg levels affect your moods and visa versa, have a look into adrenal fatigue, its all related. a lot of diabetics suffer with depression and emotional problems it all comes part and parcel, we have to learn to deal with both. Try and initiate calmness and self discipline into your life. gl.
