I have suffered way before being diagnosed type 2 some 5+ years ago, numbness in right thigh, followed by stinging and dreadful pains having to sit frequently
Then it disappeared but numbness remained
Have lost 3 stones since
Only recently it began again so GP visit confirmed above diagnosis and am not happy really as no real treatment available apparently
On 10mg amitripolin at night but not noticed any improvement yet.
Yes, I have been diagnosed with that too. It came on after I was admitted with ketoacidosis.
Sometimes it burns, and despite being tender and numb it's painful if touched.
I have just started the same drug and although it helps with pain it conflicts with my bipolar meds, as it is essentially an antidepressant.
Hope you are doing ok tallgardener ...
As for me , they upped the amitriptoline to 40mg for few months but am back down to 20 mg at mo as think it's causing me terrible sweats in an afternoon ... the pain is ongoing And some days are better than others
Still, we press on!
