Meter Change

I have been to GP today and they have changed my prescription, they will now only let me have Gluco Rx Nexus test strips, lancets and needles. I was using Bayer Contour XT.They did provide me with a new meter but I was given no choice in the matter. They did tell me they are trying to get everyone using the same brand I fancy its to do with cost more than anything.
Anyone else had a similar experience? And are these GlucoRx meters any good.
 
Glucomen lx plus meter is great, tests ketone as well
 
Are you type 1 or 2
 

They tried changing me to Gluco RX
Couldnt get on with it at all!
Argued my case for the Accu-check mobile, test cassettes and fast clix lancets and won!
 
Thanks for your replies. I am type 2 but on insulin only I inject 4 times per day. Novo Rapid and Lantus.
