My sugar meter has arrived a freecode one what setting is best to do when pricking finger

I only got mine yesterday and the instructions said for normal fingers, not too calluses to set at about 3, so that is what I did. Seems to be OK for me.

I have mine set at 2. Try there first. The higher the number the more the pin will stick in

..........she thought she was thick skinned and so set it to 9..........blood everywhere, except on the test strip! LOL

Use the side of your finger, less painful. Lowest number that gives you a result.

I play acoustic guitar a lot so I have mine set to max and even then I often have to impale myself a couple of times before the red stuff pops out.

I use the lowest setting (1/2) on my lancing device. Try starting at the lowest and then increasing it each time until you get a suitable drop of blood.
